SaltGrass Steakhouse, Katy, Texas/October 14, 2001
Survivor Colby Donaldson made an appearance at the SaltGrass Steakhouse, so of COURSE, I had to drive out to make his acquaintance. I was not disappointed!!! The restaurant folks were limiting who could get near him because at an appearance the previous day in Dallas, he was mobbed (DUH!!). A bit of sweet-talking to a waiter by a "new friend" sitting next to me got us into the roped off area. WOW! I was thrilled -- he was very gracious, even after 2 hours of non-stop meeting and greeting.

If I can't be on Survivor -- here's the next best thing: on Colby's lap!! I had to shoo out the chick who followed me (hey! I need a picture by myself hon!)

Colby is telling me that he dated a girl in college with the same name as me (but different spelling). "But she ran off and married my nemesis." And I missed the opportunity of the pick-up line of a lifetime (for once at a loss for words!): "Wanna' try it again, Colby??" |
